The role and usage characteristics of 2-4d growth regulator
I. Role
1. As a plant growth regulator, 2,4-D can promote cell division, prevent flowers and fruits from falling, increase fruit setting rate, promote fruit enlargement, improve fruit quality, increase yield, and make crops mature earlier and prolong the shelf life of fruits.
2. It can be absorbed by the roots, stems and leaves of weeds, and because of its slow degradation rate, it will continue to accumulate in the plant body. When it accumulates to a certain concentration, it interferes with the hormone balance in the plant body, destroys nucleic acid and protein metabolism, promotes or inhibits the growth of certain organs, and kills weeds.
II. Usage characteristics
2,4-D can be used as a plant growth regulator at low concentrations, but when the concentration is high, it becomes a herbicide.
