Detail
Ethephon paste is used on rubber trees primarily to stimulate increased production. By releasing ethylene, it promotes latex flow in rubber trees, thereby boosting latex yield. Compared to traditional liquid formulations, the paste offers superior adhesion and resistance to rain washout; its longer-lasting effect reduces the frequency of application.
Formulation Characteristics: As a paste, it features strong adhesion and resistance to rain washout. The active ingredient is released relatively slowly, making it well-suited for topical application. Available concentrations: 5%, 12.5%, and 10% paste. Mechanism of Action: Once absorbed by the plant, ethephon decomposes in the cellular fluid (where pH > 4) to release ethylene. This acts as an endogenous hormone, stimulating the rubber tree to increase latex flow and yield.
