6-Benzylaminopurine (6-BA) is a cytokinin-based plant growth regulator that promotes cell division and lateral bud germination. Its application after topping cotton plants effectively stimulates lateral bud growth and improves plant structure.

Mechanism of Action and Effects: 6-BA activates meristematic cell division, breaking apical dominance and inducing latent lateral bud differentiation and growth, thereby increasing the number of branches and fruiting branches, enhancing photosynthetic efficiency and boll-setting potential. Its anti-senescence properties also maintain leaf function and promote nutrient allocation to lateral branches.

Application Method of 6-Benzylaminopurine: Timely application after topping yields the best results. A common method is to apply a 0.5% 6-BA paste to the area 0.5 cm above and below the axillary buds on the lower branches of the cotton plant, or spray with a 100-500 mg/L aqueous solution, ensuring even coverage of the topping bud area.
