DCPTA significantly enhances sorghum's resistance to drought and nutrient-poor conditions, while also promoting the accumulation of dry matter; it is a highly efficient and safe plant growth regulator. It improves sorghum's growth performance under adverse conditions through multiple pathways, making it particularly suitable for challenging cultivation environments characterized by drought and infertile soil.

Mechanism of Action and Effects

1. Enhanced Drought Resistance:DCPTA regulates the plant's internal water balance, reduces water loss through transpiration, and improves the root system's water uptake capacity. Simultaneously, it promotes root development and increases the density of root hairs, thereby enhancing the efficiency of nutrient and water absorption from the soil.

2. Improved Tolerance to Nutrient Deficiency: In nutrient-poor soils, DCPTA increases sorghum's uptake and utilization efficiency of essential nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium; its efficacy is further enhanced when applied in conjunction with organic fertilizers.
Promotion of Photosynthesis and Dry Matter Accumulation: DCPTA increases chlorophyll content, boosts the rate of photosynthesis, and facilitates carbon assimilation and sucrose translocation, thereby converting a greater proportion of photosynthetic products into dry matter within the stems and grains.

3. Delayed Senescence and Stabilized Yields:By inhibiting the degradation of chlorophyll and proteins, DCPTA extends the functional lifespan of the leaves and prolongs the grain-filling period, resulting in a significant increase in thousand-grain weight and grain plumpness.
Recommended Application Methods

Application Timing: Foliar application during the early jointing stage or the booting stage is effective in mitigating stress caused by high temperatures and drought.
Application Concentration: For foliar spraying, a recommended concentration of 20–30 ppm (mg/L) is advised to avoid potential growth inhibition caused by excessive concentrations.
Tank-Mixing Suggestions: For superior results—combining both nutritional supplementation and enhanced stress resistance—DCPTA can be tank-mixed and sprayed together with Monopotassium Phosphate (at a concentration of 0.2%–0.3%).
Furthermore, DCPTA is non-toxic to humans and animals, leaves no harmful residues, and is environmentally friendly, making it highly suitable for adoption in sustainable and green agricultural practices.
