DCPTA effectively promotes uniform apple fruit coloration, increases sugar content while reducing acidity, and prevents fruit cracking. It achieves high quality and yield by regulating the allocation of photosynthetic products, enhancing enzyme activity, and optimizing peel development.
Promoting Uniform Coloration:DCPTA improves photosynthetic efficiency in leaves, boosts the synthesis of saccharides, and facilitates their translocation to the fruit. Simultaneously, it activates the expression of genes related to anthocyanin synthesis, resulting in a more uniform and vibrant fruit surface color—an effect particularly pronounced in varieties such as 'Red Fuji'.
Increasing Sugar and Reducing Acidity: This plant growth regulator increases the content of soluble sugars (such as glucose and fructose) within the fruit while lowering levels of organic acids (such as malic acid). This leads to an elevated sugar-to-acid ratio, resulting in a sweeter, crisper taste and enhanced commercial value.
Preventing Fruit Cracking: DCPTA strengthens the toughness and elasticity of fruit peel cell walls and regulates the fruit's internal water balance. By mitigating sudden fluctuations in turgor pressure—often triggered by rainfall or uneven irrigation—it significantly reduces the incidence of fruit cracking.
Recommended Application Protocol:
Application Timing: Begin foliar spraying during the mid-to-late stage of fruit expansion (40–60 days prior to harvest). Apply 2–3 times consecutively, with an interval of 10–15 days between applications.
Application Concentration:A foliar spray solution containing 10–15 mg/L of DCPTA is recommended; avoid excessive application.
Tank-Mixing Suggestions: For synergistic effects in enhancing coloration, sugar accumulation, and crack resistance, DCPTA may be tank-mixed with **0.2% Monopotassium Phosphate + Chelated Calcium.
Precautions:Apply the solution during the early morning or late evening on sunny days to avoid reduced absorption efficiency caused by rapid evaporation under high temperatures or by rainfall immediately following application.
