How can cherry fruit set be improved and fruit growth promoted?
To improve fruit set in sweet cherries, a Gibberellic Acid (GA3) solution at a concentration of 20–40 mg/kg can be sprayed during full bloom, or a 10 mg/kg solution can be applied 10 days after flowering. Methods to promote cherry fruit growth include:

(1) Spraying the fruit with a 10 mg/kg Gibberellic Acid (GA3) solution 20–22 days before harvest can significantly increase cherry fruit weight.
(2) Applying 0.8–1.6 g (active ingredient) of Paclobutrazol (Paclo) to the soil per tree in March can increase the individual fruit weight of sweet cherries.
(3) Spraying sour cherry varieties with Daminozide at a rate of 1.5 kg per hectare, 8 days after flowering, can promote fruit enlargement.
