98% Mepiquat Chloride technical grade is a high-concentration plant growth regulator specifically designed to control excessive vegetative growth in three major crops—wheat, corn, and cotton. It offers a mild yet highly targeted action, effectively producing shorter, sturdier, and lodging-resistant plants while enhancing quality and yield.

I. Key Characteristics of Mepiquat Chloride
‌High Concentration and Activity‌: Contains 98% active ingredient; dissolves rapidly and is efficiently absorbed by crop foliage and roots, delivering stable and long-lasting results.

‌Excellent Safety Profile‌: Gentler than growth inhibitors like paclobutrazol or uniconazole, it carries a low risk of phytotoxicity and can be safely applied during sensitive stages such as the seedling and flowering phases.
‌Low Toxicity and Residue‌: Oral LD₅₀ in rats is 1420 mg/kg; non-irritating to skin, birds, and bees; degrades quickly, leaving no harmful residues that would affect subsequent crops.

II. Application Rates for Mepiquat Chloride on the Three Major Crops
1. Application on Cotton
‌Seed Soaking‌: Use 1g of technical grade product per kg of cotton seed; soak in 8L of water for 24 hours, then remove and air-dry before sowing. Promotes robust seedlings and prevents leggy growth.
‌Seedling Stage (2–3 leaf stage)‌: Apply 0.1–0.3g per mu (approx. 0.067 hectares) diluted in 15–20L of water as a foliar spray; promotes root development.

‌Budding Stage‌: Apply 0.5–1g per mu diluted in 25–30L of water; shapes the plant and enhances stress resistance.

‌Early Flowering Stage‌: Apply 2–3g per mu diluted in 30–40L of water; inhibits excessive vegetative growth and increases the number of high-quality bolls.

‌Peak Flowering Stage‌: Apply 3–4g per mu diluted in 40–50L of water; prevents delayed maturity (stay-green effect) and increases boll weight. 2. Use of Mepiquat Chloride on Wheat

Seed treatment: Mix 4–5 g of technical-grade product with 2.5 kg of water and apply evenly to 5 kg of wheat seeds; sow after air-drying. This promotes earlier emergence and increases tillering per plant.

Jointing stage: Apply 10 g of technical-grade product per mu (diluted in 15 kg of water) as a foliar spray. This strengthens the stems and enhances lodging resistance.

Flowering stage: Apply 10 g of technical-grade product per mu (diluted in 15 kg of water) as a spray. This increases the thousand-grain weight and enhances resistance to drought and waterlogging.

3. Use of Mepiquat Chloride on Corn
Big bell-mouth" stage (late whorl stage): Apply 5 g of technical-grade product per mu (diluted in approximately 20 kg of water) as a foliar spray. This reduces plant height, enhances lodging resistance, and promotes the differentiation of spikelets and florets, resulting in an average yield increase of over 12%.
