6-Benzylaminopurine (6-BA) is a synthetic cytokinin that effectively promotes cell division, breaks dormancy, and stimulates bud germination and flower bud differentiation. Its soluble powder form facilitates storage and on-demand formulation, making it suitable for bud and flower promotion management in various crops.
Mechanism of Action and Effects of 6-Benzylaminopurine: 6-BA promotes lateral bud germination and branch growth by regulating the plant's hormone balance, weakening apical dominance; simultaneously, it stimulates flower bud differentiation, improves the quality of flower organ development, inhibits chlorophyll and protein decomposition, delays senescence, and enhances plant resistance.
Regarding bud germination, 6-BA can awaken dormant buds, resulting in more uniform germination; regarding flowering, 6-BA can increase the number of flower buds and reduce flower and fruit drop. 6-BA is particularly suitable for fruit trees, vegetables, and other crops.
6-BA Application Method and Precautions:
Application Period: Key periods include 7-10 days before fruit tree budding, vegetable seedling stage (2-4 true leaves) or early tillering stage, flower bud differentiation stage (e.g., early May for mangoes, mid-November for lychees), and the period from initial flowering to full bloom.
6-Benzylaminopurine Concentration and Dosage: Soluble powders must be diluted according to instructions. For example, the recommended concentration for wheat seedlings is 5-10 mg/L, with a spray volume of 30 kg per acre. During the flower bud differentiation stage of fruit trees, one 20g packet of 10% wettable powder can be diluted with 15-20 kg of water.
6-BA Application Method: Foliar spraying. Choose a sunny, windless day between 9-11 am or after 4 pm, and evenly spray both sides of the leaves and the heart leaves.
