Differences Among Various Plant Growth Promoters

Triacontanol, Brassinolide, Sodium Nitrophenolates, and Diethyl aminoethyl hexanoate DA-6 are four plant growth promoters widely favored in the market. While their functions and mechanisms of action share similarities, their characteristics differ.

Differences in the Effects of Environmental Temperature on Both

(1) Brassinolide.
As an endogenous hormone of the plant, it has a wide range of effects, functioning within the plant's maximum tolerable temperature range. Its starting temperature is 20 degrees Celsius, and its effects become more pronounced as the temperature increases. However, its effects are relatively less noticeable at low temperatures. When the temperature exceeds 30 degrees Celsius, the activity of Brassinolide significantly increases; therefore, it is important to control the concentration during supplementation to avoid excessive concentration leading to poisoning.

(2) Sodium Nitrophenolates Atonik.
Atonik becomes effective at 15 degrees Celsius, and its effects gradually increase with further increases in temperature. In environments above 25 degrees Celsius, Atonik shows effects within just two days, and its effects are even more pronounced at 30 degrees Celsius, with results appearing within 24 hours. It is worth noting that the activity of Sodium Nitrophenolates is directly proportional to temperature; the higher the temperature, the better the effect.

(3) Diethyl aminoethyl hexanoate DA-6.
DA-6 has a unique mechanism of action; it functions as long as the plant is alive and there is warmth. Therefore, even in low-temperature environments, DA-6 can promote plant growth through the synthesis of enzymes and hormones. For this reason, DA-6 is widely used in greenhouse winter crops and early spring crops such as watermelons and strawberries.

(4) Triacontanol.
Triacontanol exhibits optimal effects in the temperature range of 20-25 degrees Celsius. It should be noted that the effectiveness of Triacontanol may be affected under adverse weather conditions such as low temperatures, high temperatures, heavy rain, or strong winds. In comparison, Brassinolide is more suitable for high-temperature environments, Triacontanol is more suitable for medium-temperature environments, and DA-6 can be selected for low-temperature environments.
