Pesticides play an irreplaceable role in agriculture, and their use is particularly important for Vietnam as an agricultural exporter. Global demand for green agriculture is driving the development of biological pesticides. As a major agricultural producer and exporter in ASEAN, Vietnam's limited arable land, constantly evolving planting structure, and complex climate make pesticides an indispensable part of agricultural production. With increasing global calls for pesticide reduction and efficiency improvements, as well as biodiversity conservation, Vietnam is continuously increasing the types and quantities of chemical or synthetic pesticides that are banned or restricted.

Vietnam has implemented numerous policies to reduce the use of chemical pesticides and develop biological pesticides, striving to become a leader in organic agriculture. Simultaneously, the upgrading of domestic consumption and the tightening of pesticide residue limits for Vietnamese agricultural exports by importing countries have further boosted the demand for green and organic agricultural products. In recent years, the Vietnamese government has also launched a series of development plans, including a 30% reduction in registered chemical pesticide brands, the implementation of a biological pesticide substitution strategy, and the ambitious goal of becoming one of the top 15 organic farmers globally by 2030. Through a series of policy and regulatory guidelines and promotional activities, Vietnam's biopesticide industry is experiencing faster and more diversified development, and it has now become the country with the most registered biopesticide varieties in the ASEAN region.
