They achieve this by reducing plant height, shortening basal internodes, and thickening stem walls, thereby lowering the plant's center of gravity, significantly improving lodging resistance, and facilitating smoother mechanized harvesting.
Uniconazole: Inhibits apical dominance, reduces plant height, and promotes root development. It is registered for use on rice, offers outstanding control of excessive vegetative growth and lodging resistance, and is a mainstream choice in rice-growing regions.
Paclobutrazol:Retards cell elongation, resulting in thicker stems and reduced plant height. It delivers stable performance in controlling excessive growth and preventing lodging, making it suitable for rice and various other field crops.
Prohexadione-calcium:Offers high safety; it controls excessive growth and strengthens stems without leaving harmful residues. It is often used in combination with uniconazole to achieve both lodging resistance and increased yields.
Chlormequat chloride:Controls vegetative growth by shortening stem internodes and thickening stems. When applied during the rice plant's green-up and jointing stages, it promotes healthy, lodging-resistant plants and increases panicle numbers and overall yield.
Mepiquat chloride:Features strong systemic activity; it inhibits excessive stem and leaf growth, creates a compact plant architecture, enhances lodging resistance, and promotes the translocation of nutrients toward the panicles.
Key Application Guidelines
Timing:Application must occur during the early jointing stage of the rice. Applying before jointing can inhibit tillering and reduce yield, while applying after jointing fails to effectively control internode length or strengthen stems.
Application Standards:Strictly control the dilution concentration according to the product instructions and spray evenly over stems and leaves to avoid growth inhibition caused by excessive local concentrations. For fields with severe excessive growth, the dosage should not exceed 1.5 times the recommended rate.
Compatibility: Do not mix with alkaline pesticides, as this can cause the product to lose its efficacy. Where possible, combine with foliar fertilizers such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate to further strengthen stem toughness and improve lodging resistance.
