IBA-K is a plant growth regulator primarily used to promote the growth and development of plant roots.
Its main function is to induce the formation of adventitious roots in crops. When applied via methods such as foliar spraying or root dipping, it is absorbed by parts like leaves or seeds, translocated throughout the plant, and concentrated in the growing points. There, it stimulates cell division and triggers the development of adventitious roots. The specific functions and usage of potassium indole-3-butyrate (IBA-K) are as follows:

Functions of IBA-K
IBA-K acts on actively growing parts of a plant—such as roots, young shoots, and fruits—stimulating cell division and promoting growth specifically at the site of application.
IBA-K is characterized by its long-lasting effects and high specificity.
It promotes the growth of new roots, induces the formation of root primordia, and facilitates the development of adventitious roots on cuttings.
IBA-K is highly stable and safe to use, making it an excellent rooting and growth-promoting agent.

Usage of IBA-K
Soaking Method: Depending on how easily the cuttings take root, soak the base of the cuttings in a 50–300 ppm solution for 6–24 hours.
Quick-Dip Method: Depending on the rooting difficulty of the cuttings, dip the base of the cuttings into a 500–1000 ppm solution for 5–8 seconds.
Powder-Dipping Method: Mix IBA-K thoroughly with an additive such as talcum powder; moisten the base of the cuttings, coat them with the powder, and then plant them.

Fertigation (applied via irrigation water): 1–2 g/mu (approx. 15–30 g/hectare).
Drip Irrigation: 0.5 g/mu (approx. 7.5 g/hectare).
Basal Fertilizer: 1–2 g/mu (approx. 15–30 g/hectare).
Seed Treatment (Coating/Mixing): 0.5 g of the active ingredient per 30 kg of seeds.
Seed Soaking (12–24 hours): 50–100 ppm.
Quick-Dip (3–5 seconds): 500–1000 ppm. Through the methods described above, IBA-K can effectively promote plant growth and development, while enhancing both crop yield and quality. When using IBA-K, it is important to select the appropriate application method and concentration based on the specific plant species and its growth stage to achieve the optimal growth-regulating effect.
